Cold Brew Tea Guide

A simple, low-bitterness method for refreshing tea mocktails.

What Is Cold Brew Tea?

Cold brew tea is made by steeping loose leaf tea in cool water over time. The lower temperature draws out flavour more gently than hot brewing, giving the tea a smoother body, lower bitterness and a cleaner finish.

Cold brewing also helps lower the caffeine content and preserves more antioxidants when steeped beyond 12 hours. The result is a tea that is vibrant in colour, refreshing, and true to the character of the original blend.

How to Make Cold Brew Tea Mocktails

There are two stages: brew the tea, then mix your drinks. For quick answers, see the FAQ below.

You’ll need:

  • Atlas & Eden organic tea
  • Filtered or purified water
  • Nexba sugar-free mixers
  • Ice
  • Fresh organic garnishes (see recipes)
  • Jug with filter or glass pitcher

Step 1: Add the Tea

Place loose leaf tea into a tea filter or infuser and place it in your jug. Use 1 gram of tea per 100mL of water. (Cold-brew jugs with built-in filters make this easy.)

Step 2: Add Water

Fill one-third of the jug with room-temperature filtered water and shake or stir gently.

Step 3: Steep at Room Temperature

Let the tea steep on your bench for 1–2 hours to begin the extraction process.

Step 4: Move to the Fridge

Top up the jug with cool filtered water, give it another gentle shake, and place it in the fridge to steep further. As a guide:

  • Blue Beauty — 24–48 hrs
  • Elba Island — 48 hrs
  • Wildflower Immunity — 18–24 hrs

Step 5: Remove the Tea Leaves

Once your desired flavour strength is reached, remove the tea leaves or filter.

Step 6: Mix Your Mocktails

Your cold-brew tea is now ready to serve on its own or use in mocktails. See our mocktail recipes.
